Ten years ago passable rosé wines in Croatia were as numerous as the population of zebras. Now the situation is quite different. Here are some of our old and new favourites for spring/summer 2013.
It’s the 19th time the people of Jastrebarsko (Jaska) are going to celebrate their grape picking and wine producing tradition. The president has opened it together with all the diplomats in the country, now it’s up to us to try “best of” Plešivica region wine production. And there is a lot of good stuff coming from those colorful hills.
These are the winemakers who will proudly present their wines: „Mladina“, Dragutin Ciban, Drago Kurtalj, Zdenko Šember, Velimir Korak, Damir Režek, Malo gospodarstvo „Kolarić“, Mirica Blažek, Robert Braje, Velimir Jagunić, Siniša Šoškić, Željko Šimanović, Darko Španić, Vladimir Popović i Ljubomir Kunović.
Their ancestors bestowed them with the best vineyard positions, so Velimir Korak feels that by producing the best wines they honour their heritage.
