Željka came out of nowhere, we know Ozren from… Well, everywhere. He is a photographer with a special interest in fine wine, food and cigars, while Željka is a marketing expert who works and lives in New York City (yes, we are a bit envious sometimes). Together they had a great plan, a project that has been very popular in NYC for years. The concept of “restaurant week” isn’t anything spectacular, but it turned out that it had a spectacular impact on Croatian restaurant scene.

Ozren and Željka decided to make a list of Zagreb’s fine restaurants and talk them into having a unique menu and price for a week, in an attempt to draw people into going out to restaurants, a concept that is widely popular in all big cities of the world, but somehow not that alive in our very own Zagreb.

Some restaurant owners didn’t understand the concept (some still don’t). Some weren’t happy they weren’t on the list (and made a lot of fuss about it). Some got it all wrong (and didn’t do their best at cooking). But the benefits for guests were more than obvious and general public is very happy with the action. That’s why this time (for the third time) the action is alive and kicking all over Croatia.

We are happy Oz and Željka succeeded in their plan. We are happy to know them and share their vision. A bottle of wine every now and than, too!
