The first edition of the festival will gather 25 Croatian cheese producers in the charming medieval village of Svetvinčenat, also known as Savičenta to locals. Both the dairy industry’s big names and small artisan producers will offer their cheeses for tasting with excellent Istrian wines in Kaštel, the castle of Svetvinčenat. In one location you’ll be able to indulge in all of the the rich flavors and aromas of cheeses from Istria, Dalmatia, Lika, Slavonia, Međimurje and, of course, from Pag, the island home of Paški sir, Croatis’s most famous cheese.

One hilarious tradition not to be missed is the Goat Beauty Contest, but you’ll also be able to take in cooking demonstrations and gastronomy lectures, folk dancing troupes, plus local rock bands like Gustafi and others. If none of these sound interesting to your kids, they can entertain themselves in the straw labyrinth or petting zoo.
