[Svetvinčenat] Cheese Festival: Jul 12-13
The second edition of the festival will gather more than 15 Croatian and Slovenian cheese producers in the charming medieval village of Svetvinčenat, also known as Savičenta to locals. This year the festival is of evening character and is open from at 7 PM to 2 AM.
Both the dairy industry’s big names and small artisan producers will offer their cheeses for tasting with excellent Istrian wines in Kaštel, the castle of Svetvinčenat. In one location you’ll be able to indulge in all of the the rich flavors and aromas of cheeses from Slovenia, Istria, Dalmatia, Lika, Slavonia, Međimurje and, of course, from Pag, the island home of Paški sir, Croatis’s most famous cheese.
You’ll also be able to take in cooking demonstrations and gastronomy lectures, folk dancing troupes, plus local rock bands.
